SANKOFA WELLNESS PROJECT
Our Trans-Atlantic Journeys
Barbados, South Carolina & Ghana

The Sankofa Wellness Project was created to facilitate an intentional journey that retraces the path of the TransAtlantic Slave Trade.
-
We begin on the shores of Barbados.
-
We continue through the Gullah Geechee Corridor in South Carolina.
-
And then we culminate in the ancestral homelands of Ghana, West Africa.
Each destination offers beauty, culture, healing and a deeper understanding of who we are as a global Black family. These trips aren't just vacations - they're rooted in remembrance, resilience, joy, and the wisdom our Ancestors left for us.
We welcome you to come explore the Diaspora with us and be a part of this powerful journey.
With Love,

Our Trip Features
"Our trips are sacred spaces for us to
celebrate our resilience, honor our ancestors,
and gain a greater perspective of our global impact as children of the African Diaspora."

What is Sankofa?

Sankofa (pronounced "San-ko-fuh") is an Akan word from Ghana that means "to go back and get it."
Represented by an Adinkra symbol of a bird with its feet facing forward, its head turned backwards, and an egg in its mouth, Sankofa reminds us to draw wisdom from the past as we journey into our futures.
The principle of Sankofa guides every experience that we offer. We travel not only to rest and restore, but to reconnect - to culture, community, nature, and the ancestral stories that have shaped us throughout the world.
